Layoffs continue at United Space Alliance

FloridaToday.com reported on Friday that United Space Alliance's total employment dipped below 3,000 as the company laid off another 54 workers, including 43 based at Kennedy Space Center.

The workforce for NASA's lead space shuttle contractor is down more than 70 percent from its peak of 10,500 in January 2005. The biggest reductions came before and after the last shuttle mission landed in July.
