Science never takes a holiday -- the storied Hubble space telescope took its one millionth image over July 4th, reports NASA, eyeballing a planet orbiting a nearby star for signs of water in its atmosphere.
Launched in 1990 and repaired five times since, Hubble's millionth observation was a look at the chemistry revealed by light from the planet HAT-P-7b, or Kepler 2b, a gas giant "roaster" planet larger than Jupiter, which orbits close in to its star.
